ART 131-132 - FUNDAMENTALS
OF DESIGN (4 CR.) (4 CR.)
COURSE DESCRIPTION
Explores the concepts
of two- and three-dimensional design and color. May include field trips
as required. Lecture 2 hours. Laboratory 4 hours. Total 6 hours per week.
GENERAL COURSE PURPOSE
The course is intended
for future professional artist, designers, fine arts teachers, and art
historians. The first semester of the first year of design is intended
to introduce the student/artist to two dimensional and three dimensional
communication in black and white media.

ART 131 - FUNDAMENTALS
OF DESIGN I
COURSE OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of
this course, the student will be able to:

factors of form in black and white two dimensional and three dimensional
media

approach and self-critical attitude in one's work

develop an awareness of
the relationships between studio work and the environment between studio
work and art of the present and the past

ART 132 - FUNDAMENTALS
OF DESIGN II

Prerequisite for this
course is ART 131 - "Fundamentals of Design I" is recommended.
