ADJ 289 - COMPARATIVE SYSTEMS OF CRIMINAL JUSTICE (3 CR.)

COURSE DESCRIPTION

Surveys administration of justice in a variety of nations, comparing workings and results of different law enforcement, judicial and correctional components. May include international field trips. Lecture 3 hours per week.

GENERAL COURSE PURPOSE

The purpose of this course is to provide the student with an acquaintance to the philosophy and history of criminal justice agencies of various nations and to permit an in-depth analysis and comparison with their American counterparts.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

Upon completion of this course, the student should have knowledge of various criminal justice agencies worldwide and be able to provide an overview of problems, jurisdictions, career opportunities and training in selected criminal justice agencies world wide.
