CULTURE AND CIVILIZATION I-II (3 CR.) (3 CR.)
COURSE DESCRIPTION
Introduces the student to German thought, culture, and scientific achievement. Classes conducted in English. Lecture 3 hours per week.
GENERAL COURSE PURPOSE
To introduce the student to the cultural and intellectual scene and achievements of the German speaking countries. This course is especially suited or designed for students interested in area studies.
ENTRY LEVEL COMPETENCIES
No prerequisites.
COURSE OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of the course, the student will have a knowledge of the history and cultural achievements of the German-speaking countries.
MAJOR TOPICS TO BE COVERED
All aspects of German culture, as shown by a study of the history, art, folklore, and scientific achievements of the German-speaking people.
