CHD 125 - CREATIVE
ACTIVITIES FOR CHILDREN (3 CR.)
COURSE DESCRIPTION
Prepares individuals
to work with young children in the arts and other creative age-appropriate
activities. Investigates effective group experiences and open-ended activities.
Lecture 2 hours. Laboratory 2 hours. Total 4 hours per week.
GENERAL COURSE PURPOSE
To prepare the student
to provide for the development of children's creativity in all curricular
areas using materials and activities which promote thinking and exploration
of materials and concepts.
ENTRY LEVEL COMPETENCIES
Functional literacy
in the English language; reading at the 12th grade level.
COURSE OBJECTIVES
Upon the completion
of this course, the student should be able to:
