A major is a course of study and a plan of action that helps guide students to a career. Career exploration is a critical component to academic success. Without an end goal, completing college can be very frustrating. At NOVA, we encourage our students to use an organized approach to choosing a major. First year students have a variety of services and programs to help them with choosing a major and gaining practical experience in that field.
