Student Orientation

Welcome to NOVA! Every important journey involves careful preparation. NOVA requires you to participate in a Student Orientation program offered at five of NOVA's campuses.

As a first-time-to-college student under the age of 24 you must start by completing your placement testing and then sign up for a NOVA email account before you can register for an Orientation session.

Special Notice for Pathway Students:

Pathway students attend orientation, which is provided by Pathway Staff. Please click here to register for Pathway New Student Orientation.

During Student Orientation you will:

  • Receive interpretation of Placement Test scores
  • Develop an academic goal
  • Meet with a first-year advisor
  • Create your class schedule and register for courses
  • Learn about payment options and Financial Aid

The earlier you attend a Student Orientation, the more likely you are to get the classes and the class times that you want!

Student Orientations are led by first-year advisors, college teaching faculty and student orientation leaders.

Register online

Student orientation sessions are offered throughout the year.

Students are only required to attend one orientation session at any NOVA campus location.
