FASTPrint

What is FASTPrint?

FASTPrint allows users to send print jobs anywhere using email. To print, you will need a device with email capability, the document ID number, and your NOVACard.

* Make sure to deselect the email body page and to select single or double prints before printing.

How do I print using FASTPrint?

Visit www.Printme.com

Click on Upload Now in the menu bar on the top.

  • Enter your email address to receive your document ID number. Upload the document you want printed and select send to PrintMe.
  • You will receive a confirmation email within minutes with a document ID number that you will need to retrieve your file at any FASTPrint location.
  • Visit the FASTPrint location and swipe your NOVACard on the card reader. The copier will then enable the function menu. (Choose option EFI PrintMe on the machine.)
  • Enter Document ID number and press next.
  • Select pages to print; attachment(s), email body or both.
  • Select Printer Options to adjust color and printing preferences on double or single sided prints.
  • Press Print. The card reader will display printed pages and price.
  • Select exit on copier screen.
  • Press Quit/Enter on the card reader to see the ending balance on your NOVACard.

From Your Email

  • Send email with any attachment to print@printme.com. Documents are able to be sent by any device with email capability.

To download the printer driver on your laptop or PC go to EFI PrintMe Driver. (PCs only)

  • Choose the Get the Driver option to download the driver.
  • Once installed, send print job from your laptop.
  • A confirmation email will be sent to the given email address including the document ID number.
  • Visit the FASTPrint location and swipe your NOVACard on the card reader. The copier will then enable the function menu. (Choose option EFI PrintMe on the machine.)
  • Enter document ID number and press next.
  • Select pages to print; attachment(s), email body or both.
  • Select Printer Options to adjust color and printing preferences on double or single side prints.
  • Press Print. The card reader will display printed pages and price.
  • Select exit on copier screen.
  • Press Quit/Enter on the card reader to see the ending balance on your NOVACard.

Where is FASTPrint located?

FASTPrint stations are located on all Northern Virginia Community College Campuses.

How much will it charge me for copy or printing?

Black & White $0.12

Color $0.40

Can I pay using my credit card?

NO, FASTPrint devices do not accept credit cards. You can pay using NOVACard or a guest card. You may deposit money on your NOVACard account at any of the NOVACard deposit machines or at any of the NOVACard offices on campus.

What if I don’t have a NOVACard?

You can purchase a Guest Card at a NOVACard Deposit Machine location or you can stop by any of the NOVACard offices during office hours with a government issued photo ID to get your NOVACard ID. Here is a list of deposit machine locations on each NOVA campus:

How do I add money to my NOVACard?

You can add money to your NOVACard account at any of the campus NOVACard offices or at any deposit machine. The deposit machines accept cash only -$1, $5, $10 and $20 bills. Click here to find a NOVACard office on your campus.

How long does my document stay in Fast Print?

Your document will stay in the FASTPrint system for 24 hours. After 24 hours you will have to resend the document.

What is a Document ID number?

A document ID number is the number assigned to your document once you have submitted your print job to the PrintMe software. The Document ID number is used to retrieve your job at any of the FASTPrint locations.

How long does it take to receive a confirmation email with a document ID number?

Once a document has been emailed, a confirmation email will be sent to you within minutes with the document ID number.

How do I change the settings of my print job?

Once you enter the document ID number, select Print Options to choose color and number of copies.

I sent my document through email and I did not receive a confirmation email with a document ID number, what can I do?

Try resending the document and make sure it is addressed to print@printme.com. If you are still having problems contact NOVACard at novacard@nvcc.edu or by phone at 703.764.7759. Please be aware Internet connectivity is needed when sending documents to print.

If I send three documents but I only want to print one of the three, what can I do?

Enter the document ID number you wish to print from and select the specific document you wish to print.

How do I select a double sided print job?

When printing at the FASTPrint device select Print Options, then choose from one or double sided pages before printing your desired print job.

What size of paper can I print at a FASTPrint location?

Only Letter Size paper can be printed at a FASTPrint location.

What if the machine is offline?

If the machine is offline contact the central NOVACard office at 703.764.7759 or email the central NOVACard office at novacard@nvcc.edu. Be sure to tell them the campus location you are at and the FASTPrint location number. The staff at the central NOVACard office will make sure the issue is resolved.

What files can I print through FASTPrint?

FASTPrint supports:

  • Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Adobe Reader (.pdf)
  • Image (.bmp, .gif, .jpg, .jpeg, .pic, .pct, .png, .tiff, .tif)
  • PostScript
  • Text file (.txt)
  • Web Pages
  • HTML (.html, .htm, .mht)

**Uploading of materials depends on the wireless carrier -- FASTPrint my not support your file due to the device carrier.

What happens if the printer runs out of paper or toner is low? Who do I contact?

Contact the central NOVACard office at 703.764.7759 or email the central NOVACard office at novacard@nvcc.edu. Be sure to tell them the campus location you are at and the FASTPrint location number. The staff at the central NOVACard office will make sure the issue is resolved.

What happens if I am charged for a job that was not printed correctly or my job does not print at all?

In order to redeem a refund on your NOVACard, you must submit a Transaction Refund Request form. You can get a Transaction Refund Request form at any NOVACard office. Submit your refund request within 30 days of the incident to any NOVACard office and include the misprint. We consider your request a high priority however; it may take up to 45 days for you to receive a refund on your NOVACard account. We will notify you as soon as possible regarding the completion of the refunded transaction.
