Overview

CareerStart offers a variety of services and programs to support the career and employment related needs of both students and area employers.

For students, services cluster in three general areas:

Career Development - Counselors experienced with career topics are available at each campus to assist students choosing/changing majors, taking career assessments including the MBTI and Strong Interest Inventory exploring career fields using Choices Planner software, internet sites and hardcopy resources, education and transfer planning.

Job Search Skills - Through individual appointments, Job Readiness Training Program, workshops and classroom presentations and web/printed materials, career counselors help student develop skills in resume writing and job correspondence, networking, interviewing, and general job search.

Job Leads - The Job Opportunities Page includes links to some of the useful on-line listings, including NOVATRAK . The Calendar of Events includes NVCC sponsored job fairs and career events as well as selected community programs.
