EMERGENCY MEDICAL TECHNICIAN - BASIC

Prerequisite: EMS 100 CPR for Healthcare Providers or CPR certification at the Health Care Provider level. Co-requisite: EMS 120. Prepares student for certification as a Virginia and National Registry EMT. Includes all aspects of pre-hospital basic life support as defined by the Virginia Office of Emergency Medical Services curriculum for Emergency Medicine Technician Basic. Lecture 5 hours per week. Laboratory 4 hours per week. Total 9 hours per week.
