This academic year, 12 NOVA faculty were selected to participate in CETL's faculty learning community on best practices for teaching and learning.

NOVA’s EDU 295: Teaching Online
Participants will learn how to promote active learning, social presence, and community; explore new technologies; and learn assessment and time-management techniques. See the EDU 295 course information page, http://novaonline.nvcc.edu/Descriptions/edu295common/edu295ci509.htm, for details. This three-credit eight-week online course begins May 18 and ends July 13. Both full-time and adjunct faculty may qualify for free tuition for this course.

VCCS Faculty Grants - Click here for the online application or explore the PD website at www.vccs.edu/vcprodev. Be sure to send your application to Deborah Mottsman Rosen in our grants office before submitting your proposal to the VCCS. Submit your grant to the Grants Office one week in advance to allow for approvals and feedback to improve your successful grant application.

President’s Sabbatical
The President’s Sabbatical Award allows three faculty members, one of whom can be on a 12-month contract, to receive a semester of leave with full pay.  Proposals will be awarded based on their excellence and a candidate’s potential to contribute to the long-term mission of the College.
