Corrections/Updates to the 2004-2005 Catalog

Please note the following changes have been made to the online 2004-2005 Catalog from the original printed catalog.

1.

Electrical Technology Plan of Study for the Technical Studies AAS Degree (p. 65):
ENG 112 College Composition II, 3 cr., should be changed to ENG 115 Technical Writing, 3 cr.

 

ITP 100 Computer Program Design should read ITP 100 Software Design (p. 66)

2.

Energy Technology Plan of Study for the Technical Studies AAS Degree (p. 66):
ELE 159 Electrical Motors should be changed to IT Elective, 3 cr.;
BUS 117 Human Relations & Leadership Development should be changed to BUS 209 -Continuous Quality Improvement, 3 cr.

3.

Information Technology AAS (first year) (pp. 78):
ITP 100 Software Design (formerly IST 153) should be listed as 3 credits instead of 4 credits. The total credits for the first semester should be 16 instead of 17.

4.

Information Technology AAS specializations (p. 79-80):
Microcomputer Spec.- Total Credits for AAS Degree should read 67 instead of 68.

Network Administration Spec.- Total Credits for AAS Degree should read 66 instead of 67.

Network Engineering Spec.- Total Credits for AAS Degree should read 66 instead of 67.

Software Development Spec.- Total Credits for AAS Degree should read 66 instead of 67.

5.

Network Security – CSC. (p. 80):
ITN 266 Network Security Layers should be 3 credits instead of 4;
The total credits for second semester should be 13 credits instead of 14, and the total credits for the certificate should be 27 instead of 28.

6.

Marketing - International Marketing Specialization, AAS Degree (p. 87)
Heading halfway down should read:
“Second Year” instead of First Year being listed twice.

7.

Medical Laboratory Technology, AAS Degree, (p. 104)
First course should read:
BIO 101 General Biology I or BIO Elective with Lab.

Add to page 122:
BUS 209 Continuous Quality Improvement (3 CR.)

Presents the different philosophies in Quality Control. Introduces students to Process Improvement, Team Development, Consensus Building, and Problem-Solving strategies. Identifies methods for Process Improvement in manufacturing and service organizations, which includes Statistical Process Control when used in the quality control function of business and industry. Lecture 3 hours per week.

ESL 2 English as a Second Language II (p. 131)
Should read “10 CR.” instead of 15 CR.

10.

Add to page 132:
ESL 14 Oral and Written Communication (5 CR.)

Provides practice in the sound, stress, intonation, structural patterns, grammar, vocabulary, and idioms of beginning-level English. Lecture 5 hours per week.

11.

HIT 141-142 Fundamentals of Health Information Systems I-II (p. 135)
Should read:
“ Prerequisite is ITE 115…” instead of IST 117.

MUS 008 (p. 151) should read MUS 8.

13.

HORTICULTURE TECHNOLOGY, A.A.S. (p. 75)
Landscape Design Specialization LO
In the Second Year, the HRT Elective’s footnote should read “4” not “6”.

14.

CHINESE STUDIES, C.S.C., (p. 85)
Second Year should read as stated below:
CHI 201 credits should read “4” not “3”; CHI 202 credits should read “4” not “3”.
The total credits for first semester should be “7” credits not “6”; the second semester should be “4” credits instead of 3.
The total credits for the certificate should be “27” instead of “25”.

15.

JAPANESE STUDIES, C.S.C., (p. 85)
Second Year should read as stated below:
JPN 201 credits should read “4” not “3”; JPN 202 credits should read “4” not “3”.
The total credits for first semester should be “7” credits not “6”; the second semester should be “4” credits instead of 3.
