Purpose: This plan of study is designed to prepare students for employment in a variety of career fields in energy generation and distribution. Emphasis is on becoming a line worker.
Special Admission Requirements: There is a one-day orientation where prospective students climb a pole. Prospective students must also have a commercial drivers license and a drug test.
Total credits for the A.A.S. Degree in Technical Studies - Energy Technology Plan of Studies = 68.
To graduate from a degree program, students entering NVCC Fall 1999 or later must demonstrate computer competency skills as described in the Degree Requirements section of the Instructional Programs of this catalog.
1 The humanities/fine arts elective may be selected from the list on page 38 of the 2003-04 Catalog. Elective should be selected with advice of a counselor or faculty advisor.
2,3 The psychology and sociology electives should be selected with advice of a counselor or faculty advisor.
