Prerequisite is CPR certification at the Health Care Provider level. Prepares student for certification as a Virginia and National Registry EMT/B. Includes all aspects of pre-hospital basic life support as defined by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's National Curriculum for Emergency Medical Technicians/Basic. Lecture 4 hours. Laboratory 4 hours. Total 8 hours per week.
