MEDIA AND MATERIALS PREPARATION

    Prerequisites are BIO 205 and CHM 112 or equivalent. Enhances skills learned in microbiology. Emphasizes selection     and preparation of both media and solutions, use and care of equipment required for solution preparation, calculations,     and documentation of procedures. Instructs in the proper techniques for using analytical balance, pH meter, autoclave     and other methods of sterilization. Stresses laboratory safety and standard laboratory operating procedures. Lecture 1     hour. Laboratory 3 hours. Total 4 hours per week.BIO 226 (4 CR.)     VERTEBRATE ZOOLOGY     Prerequisites are BIO 101-102. Focuses on structure, embryology, function, ecology, classification, and evolution of     vertebrate animals. Lecture 3 hours. Recitation and laboratory 3 hours. Total 6 hours per week.
