Introduces principles of wound healing including types, stages, and complications; preparation, care and types of surgical supplies, packing, dressings, catheters, drains, tubes, and equipment; and classifications of instruments, sutures, and needles. Describes responsibilities related to the scrub and circulating roles. Provides students practical experience in the operating room. Lecture 2 hours. Laboratory 3 hours. Total 5 hours per week.
