Purpose: The curriculum is designed to prepare persons seeking employment in the field of camp counseling and management and those presently employed in this field who desire to update or expand their knowledge.

Total credits for the Camp Counseling and Management Career Studies Certificate = 27.

All first-time students must take a one-credit Student Development (STD) course prior to enrolling in their 16th credit at NVCC.

1 The PSY elective should be selected from the following: PSY 205, PSY 216, PSY 231, PSY 235.

Optional Summer Session

These courses are taught off campus in the first five weeks of the summer session as the Wilderness Outdoor Leadership program. Students will be responsible for an additional contractor's fee for this program, which is optional for the career studies certificate, but highly recommended.
