INFORMATION SYSTEMS TECHNOLOGY
Microcomputer Specialization AL, AN, LO, MA, WO, ELI*

Purpose: This specialization provides knowledge and skills in microcomputer hardware and software and the application of these skills in an information center environment for persons seeking employment as a microcomputer support specialist.

*Graduation requirements are certified by the student's home campus.

Total credits for the A.A.S. Degree in Information Systems Technology with a Specialization in Microcomputer = 68.

To graduate from a degree program, students entering NVCC Fall 1999 or later must demonstrate computer competency skills as described in the Degree Requirements section of the Instructional Programs of this catalog.

2 The PED requirement may be met by one of the following options: PED 116, 2 cr.; PED 116, 1 cr. plus a PED activities course, 1 cr.; or PED 116, 1 cr. plus RPK 205, 207, 208, 216, or 225. PED 116 is offered as both a 1-credit and a 2-credit course.

3 The social science elective may be selected from the following: economics, geography, history, political science, psychology, or sociology (includes anthropology).

4 IST elective may be selected from any IST or TEL course.
