ADVANCED FIRE PROTECTION SYSTEMS AND EQUIPMENT

    Covers purposes of commercial and residential detection systems and their relationship to fire department operations.     Examines flame, smoke, and thermal detectors. Explains sprinkler, explosion, suppression, dry chemical, and halon     systems. Teaches techniques used in reviewing building plans before building permit is issued. Lecture 3 hours. Laboratory     2 hours. Total 5 hours per week.
