Referrals

Each campus has a CareerStart point of contact in the Counseling Center who provides career related services and information. Students who may benefit from a referral include those who:

• are unsure of their academic and career goals
• have a clear academic goal, but are unsure of career options
• have a career goal, but need guidance on academic preparation
• need assistance in developing job search skill
• need assistance in finding job leads

Faculty are also encouraged to refer employers and job leads in their discipline to their home campus Counseling Center. The Centers post jobs in binders and on bulletin boards available to students as well as refer employers to NOVATRAK (college-wide online job bulletin: http://www.nvcc.edu/depts/novatrak). Center counselors are also involved in campus and community job fairs and recruiting events, serving as liaisons for interested employers, and promoting recruiting events.
