Sim Center Policies

A lab instructor or faculty member must be present with students during their simulation experience. |

Only qualified personnel may operate a patient simulator. |
|
3. |
No one is to use the simulators unless either the CSC Manager, and/or the RN assigned to the sim lab are present (on-site). |

All simulation use will be scheduled through the manager and all correspondence will be via email. |
|
5. |
Use of the CSC must be requested a minimum of two weeks in advance. This request must be specific and cannot be done to “hold” the time slot. |

6. |
If the lab instructor or faculty member and/ r students are not prepared to start their session within 10 minutes of the scheduled time, the session is cancelled and the faculty member will have to reschedule. |

7. |
All students and faculty that use the CSC must sign a confidentiality statement. This is a onetime requirement. |

8. |
Any tours that wish to come to CSC must notify the manager at least two days prior. |
|
9. |
Visitors are to be accompanied at all times |
|
10. |
Only paper tape is to be used on the simulators. |
|
11. |
NO INK PENS or any writing instruments are allowed near the simulators. |
|
12. |
Only small gauge needles or IV catheters may be used. |
|
13. |
Simulators are to be covered at all times except during a simulation. |
|
14. |
After a simulation, simulation center is be left in pristine condition. |
|
15. |
Simulators are to be treated with respect. |
|
16. |
Patient safety is to be observed at all times. |
|
17. |
Professional communication and behavior are expected all times while in the CSC. |
