Welcome to the Nursing Division. Nursing is an exciting career that offers a variety of tracks for men and women who are committed to learning and helping others.

The nursing profession is facing a critical workforce shortage. If you feel that you would like to embark on this exciting and personally fulfilling career, please listen to the information session for the nursing track of your choice to get all the details you will need to launch your new career in the field of nursing.

Helpful Links

	Traditional Registered Nurse Track This is a four-semester track with classes starting in the fall semester, a summer break and graduation at the end of the second spring semester.
	Online Hybrid Registered Nurse Track This is a four semester track that combines synchronous (live) lectures using eNOVA, asynchronous (anytime) Blackboard activities and in-person lab and clinical practice.
	Licensed Practical Nurse to Registered Nurse Transition Track This is a four-semester track with extensive prerequisite work required available only to existing LPNs that combines lectures with lab and clinical practice.
	Momentum 2+1 Registered Nurse Track This is a prescriptive track with students attending classes for six semesters at NOVA, and then transferring to George Mason University for two semesters to earn a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.

Practical Nursing Program
The MEC Workforce Development Division offers a Practical Nurse Program. It is a 12 month program leading to a certificate in Practical Nursing. It prepares students for licensure through the National Council Licensing Examination (NCLEX-PN). The program has been approved by the Virginia Board of Nursing. Registered Nurse Return to Practice Course
The MEC Workforce Development and Office of Continuing Education offers a seven-week refresher course for currently licensed registered nurses who are interested in returning to clinical practice.
