Momentum 2 + 1 Registered Nurse Track
Courses
The Momentum 2 + 1 Registered Nurse Track is a prescriptive track with students attending classes for six semesters at the Medical Education Campus of NOVA, and two semesters at George Mason University (GMU). This track is designed for recent high school graduates or students with no prior college credit, but students with previous college credits may also apply. Students will be placed in the prescribed courses outlined in the program with pre-assigned teaching faculty on designated days and times throughout the program at the Medical Education Campus in Springfield, VA. A minimum GPA of 3.0 is required to apply to this track, along with other admission requirements. Students must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 upon graduation from NOVA in order to qualify for transfer to George Mason University (GMU). The student will graduate with two Associate Degrees; an Associate of Science Degree in General Studies (A.S.) and an Associate Degree in Applied Science for Nursing (A.A.S.). Once students take and pass the NCLEX-RN exam they will complete the senior year (2 semesters) of the nursing program at GMU and, if successful, will earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Science (B.S.N.) for Nursing.
Please be aware of this recent change effective immediately. Cumulative 3.0 GPA will be required for consideration for admission to the Momentum 2 + 1 track. If accepted and upon completion of this track at NOVA, you will apply for transfer to GMU. They will be reviewing all of your transcripts from all colleges attended and will also require cumulative GPA of 3.0.
