Dr. Michael Krimmer (GIS195, GIS200, GIS201, GIS205, ENV/GIS230)

Dr. Krimmer is an associate professor at NOVA, where he teaches introductory, intermediate, and advanced GIS. He is also the Program Head of Geospatial Studies at NOVA. In addition, Dr. Krimmer teaches Environmental Studies and GIS at George Mason University.

Dr. Krimmer is a retired U.S. Air Force colonel. While in the Air Force he held Senior Navigator, Instructor Navigator and Aircrew Evaluator flight ratings.

After 11 years flying, he moved to weapon systems acquisition, completing certifications in logistics, systems engineering and program management.

Research interests include air quality, modeling and spatial analysis of physical, environmental and sociological phenomenon.
