Melody Peppard (GIS255, Viewing Our Earth: Introduction to Remote Sensing)

Peppard is an adjunct associate professor at NOVA, where she teaches Remote Sensing.

Peppard has approximately 10 years experience related to the remote sensing community. She enlisted in the U.S. Air Force as an Imagery Analyst. After receiving her Bachelor’s Degree, she accepted a special duty assignment as a drill instructor for the Air Force. Peppard was then selected to work at the Space Innovation and Development Center as a Spectral Imagery Analyst. Peppard holds a graduate degree in Space Operations Management.

Peppard’s area of expertise covers multiple sensor and platform application that encompass, EO (Electric Optical), VIS/IR (Visible Infrared), PI (Polar metric Imagery), MTI (Moving Target Indicator), MSI (Multi-Spectral Imagery) and H S I (Hyper-Spectral Imagery) and SAR (Synthetic Aperture Radar).

Peppard is currently an Image Scientist and Program Manager for ITT Space Systems Division.
