Biology

Welcome to Biology at NOVA's Annandale Campus. In biology, living things are "placed under the microscope" and examined from a molecular, cellular and ecological perspective. Emphasis is placed on a scientific approach to problem solving and on the dependence of living organisms on each other and their physical environment.

Courses may be taken to fulfill a science requirement, a special interest or to obtain an Associate in Science Degree with a biology emphasis. Training in biology provides the basis for entry into a variety of careers including dentistry, forestry, horticulture, medicine, nursing, pharmacy, research, teaching, wildlife management and more.
