Alexandria Campus

Northern Virginia Community College's (NOVA) Alexandria Campus is a unique academic institution -- a close-knit community of various academic programs located within minutes of the nation’s capital.

With top-notch faculty members, a commitment to affordable education and cutting edge academic programs, dedicated scholars have all the resources necessary to fulfill their overall objectives and personal goals.

Teaching and instructional support are intertwined with NOVA's overall strategic goals - students conduct research in labs, classrooms and libraries, while learning from faculty of the highest regards. The vast array of learning resources available to the college, from our library, archives, computer labs, writing center, art and photography collections remain unparalleled in the community college system.

With a 50-year tradition of educating community, business and government leaders, the Alexandria Campus is proud to continue an education focused on student achievement, committed to the values of access, opportunity, and excellence. This is enhanced by our mission to deliver world-class in person and online post-secondary teaching, learning, and workforce development to ensure our community, region, and the Commonwealth of Virginia have an educated population, both domestically and globally.

The Alexandria Campus is one of seven campuses in the Northern Virginia Community College system serving more than 17,000 students -- making this location one of the premier educational centers in the region. The Alexandria Campus offers an intellectually stimulating environment, steeped in historical traditions, which is at the heart of a great education with the dual pursuit of academic and extra-curricular excellence.

With more than 17,000 students, the Alexandria campus offers 13 world languages, English as a Second Language program, the Motorcycle Training program via Workforce Development, an active Honors program and much, much more. In addition, we have one of the premier entertainment venues, which seats over 500, the Rachel M. Schlesinger Concert Hall and Arts Center.

As many of you will already know, construction is well advanced for the NEW Academic Building on the Alexandria Campus. The NEW three-story facility will provide academic and administrative supporting facilities, activity rooms, general classrooms and a bookstore.

The 80,000 square feet facility will encompass three main stories plus one lower story for Receiving, three outdoor terraces (each used for studio work and student lounge areas), two main entrances (East entry - addressing Beauregard Parking Garage and West entry - addressing adjacent Bisdorf Student Services). The intention is to complete this historic event by Spring 2015.
