Campus Events

Faculty, staff and students organize campus-wide cultural, educational and social events. Activities get underway at the start of each fall and spring semester with NOVA Day, which serves as the campus welcome or welcome back to our students.

The campus celebrates the diversity of our students through several annual events including:

  • National Hispanic Heritage Month
  • International Education Week
  • Black History Month
  • Women’s History Month
  • Celebration of Diversity Week
  • NOVA Idol Competition

Other events held on an annual basis by student organizations include:

  • Spanish American Latin Student (SALSA) Festival
  • International Cultural Festival
  • African Cultural Festival
  • Ramadan/EID Dinners
  • Phi Theta Kappa Induction Ceremonies

Regular weekly and monthly activities may be planned, such as karaoke nights, open mic poetry slams and movie nights. Students interested in taking on a leadership role in organizing events should contact the Office of Student Activities.
