Consultation Service
A Writing Center online consultant will be happy to help you with your papers. Please remember to allow 48 hours (or possibly longer) to receive a response and to answer ALL the questions below or we will NOT respond. If you submit your paper after 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, over the weekend or on a holiday, you will receive a response the following week.
Step One: Contact Information
Please provide ALL the following information. Your request will not be processed unless you provide answers to ALL the questions below.
Copy all the questions below and fill in your answers to all of them, one by one. Send your answers to us via email. Or, download this request in Word format and fill it out and send it to us via email. Before you send, rename the Word file to your last name.

Step Two: Assignment Background
1. In your own words, what was the assignment? What were you asked to write?
2. Who is the audience for this assignment?
3. Briefly provide other relevant information, such as required length, required citation format, due date, etc.
Step Three: Structure and Outline
1. What is your thesis sentence? Remember this sentence states your paper's central idea. Every subsequent paragraph must relate directly back to this central point.
2. What is the TOPIC sentence of your first support paragraph? Do you have details, examples or illustrations to develop this paragraph's main point? Is this development sufficient to make this point?
3. What is the TOPIC sentence of your second support paragraph? Do you have details, examples or illustrations to develop this paragraph's main point? Is this development sufficient to make this point?
4. What is the TOPIC sentence of your third support paragraph? Do you have details, examples or illustrations to develop this paragraph's main point? Is this development sufficient to make this point?
5. If you have additional paragraphs, provide each paragraph's topic sentence. Do you have details, examples or illustrations to develop each paragraph's main point? Is this development sufficient to make this point?
6. What do you see as the draft's strengths at this point?
7. What are the main difficulties you are having at this point?
8. What in particular would you like us to focus our comments on? Global Review: thesis, paragraph development, organization, introduction, conclusion, transitions, etc. Sentence Level Review: fragments, run-ons, wordiness, word choice, punctuation, etc.
