Learning Communities

Learning Communities offer Developmental and ESL students the opportunity to take paired courses during the semester with the same group of classmates. This group dynamic not only offers students peer-to-peer support, but also creates lasting friendships within a more personalized instructional setting. Instructors teaching different subjects can share lesson plans and combine assignments as a way to increase learning comprehension. Learning Communities are a part of NOVA's Achieving the Dream initiative.
