If you plan to transfer to a four-year university, it’s recommended that you explore your options early so you can make any necessary adjustments to fulfill lower-level course requirements while pursuing your associate’s degree.

University of Maryland University College (UMUC) transfer advisors are on your community college campus throughout the semester. Working closely with your community college advisor and your UMUC transfer advisor allows for a smooth transition to UMUC and allows you to maximize your credits. Northern Virginia Community College students can transfer up to 70 credits to UMUC.
