This year's theme, Take a Step in the Right Direction, is representative of the importance placed on planning and preparation prior to transitioning from a community college to a four-year institution.
For community college students, preparing to transfer to a four-year college or university is symbolic of embarking on a journey. In order to effectively navigate through this journey, students should devise a roadmap to define what steps they need to take to reach their intended destination. Admissions representatives play a key role in giving students direction, while also helping them to avoid obstacles along the way. By attending the Transfer Fair, a collaborative effort takes place between the four-year representatives and students. This better allows for students to take a step in the right direction towards successfully completing their transfer journey.
On behalf of the Annandale Campus of Northern Virginia Community College, we would like to invite you to participate in our annual College Transfer Fair. This year’s program will be held on Wednesday, October 23, 2013, 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. in the Ernst Community Cultural Center Gymnasium (CE Building, 1st floor). The College Transfer Fair is a major event for our campus and last year we had numerous college and university representatives and more than 800 hundred students in attendance!
NOVA has a longstanding tradition of providing access into higher education and the transfer resources and opportunities are an important vehicle in facilitating this process.
