This year's theme, See Yourself in a New Tomorrow, is representative of the importance placed on planning and preparation prior to transitioning from a community college to a four year institution.
Outreach efforts by four year institutions aid students in gaining a knowledge base regarding admissions requirements and appropriate coursework that will best enhance a student's ability to transfer and excel at a college or university. With academic preparedness being cited as one of the most pivotal factors in a transfer student's ability to succeed, it has become increasingly important that community college students have the opportunity to engae with four year representatives.
On behalf of the Annandale Campus of Northern Virginia Community College, we would like to invite you to participate in our annual College Transfer Fair. This year’s program will be held on Wednesday, October 17, 2012, 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. in the Ernst Community Cultural Center Gymnasium (CE Building, 1st floor). The College Transfer Fair is a major event for our campus and last year we had numerous college and university representatives and more than 800 hundred students in attendance!
NOVA has a longstanding tradition of providing access into higher education and the transfer resources and opportunities are an important vehicle in facilitating this process.
