Adobe PhotoShop Basics
Hands-on experience learning the basic PhotoShop tools and menus. There will also be an introduction to the use of layers.
   
Adobe PhotoShop Advanced/Web Production (Prerequisite: Adobe Photoshop Basics)
This is a course that will familiarize you with concepts and techniques important for optimizing images for display on the Internet.
   
Computer on Wheels (COW)
A COW is now available for faculty to use in the classroom. Each unit consists of the following components: multimedia Pentium computer; LCD projector with 2 computer VGA inputs and one video input. Wireless keyboard and mouse. All stored in a lockable mobile cart. Learn to use each of the components listed above.

Developing and Organizing a Web Site
What goes into making a good and useful web site? How do you get started? What's the first step? What should the site include? Come find the answers to these questions and more to get you on the road to your corner of cyberspace.
   
Digital Camera and Scanning Techniques
Learn to use Sony digital cameras. These pictures are saved to a disk in the camera and are "web ready" in .jpg format. These cameras are available for short-term check out by faculty and staff.
   
Dreamweaver CS3: Overview
An introduction to how Dreamweaver can facilitate designing and revising a course website. No Dreamweaver or web experience necessary. Gain hands-on experience in using Dreamweaver tools.
   
Dreamweaver CS3: Introduction
(Prerequisites: Familiarity with Windows, basic HTML and web page design and publishing.)
The two 3-hour sessions will cover site definition and management, setting Dreamweaver preferences, use of the launcher, properties palette and toolbar for basic page design and editing, page properties, tables, inserting objects, web colors, and other topics as time and interest allow.
   
Fireworks CS3 Introduction
Come and learn to use this versatile graphics program - often bundled with Dreamweaver. You will learn to create vector graphics, edit bitmap graphics, optimize images, and create and assign rollover effects for the Web.
   
Fireworks CS3 Advanced (Prerequisite: Fireworks Introduction)
You will learn powerful techniques for creating and editing Web graphics and pages. You will learn advanced skills for working with vector graphics, photographic images and effects, slicing and rollovers, symbols and animation, and exporting to HTML.
   
Flash CS3 Introduction (Prerequisite: Should be comfortable working in Windows, and have experience in using a graphics or web design program)
Learn the basics of Flash MX. The environment includes powerful video, multimedia, and application development features, which allow you to create rich user interfaces, online advertising, e-learning courses and enterprise application front ends.
   
HTML--Level I
Does this whole HTML/web page thing have you confused? If you know that you need to learn something about it, but don't know where to begin, then this workshop is for you. It will cover the fundamentals of HTML and how it is used to create web pages.

Microsoft FrontPage 2003--Introduction
In this beginner level two-part class, you will learn how to create and edit a basic web page in FrontPage. You will also learn about HTML (Hypertext Markup Language) which is the code used by FrontPage and other similar applications to create web pages. By the end of this class you will be well on your way to creating your own web design.

Microsoft PowerPoint 2003--Introduction
Microsoft PowerPoint is a presentation graphics program designed for users who need to communicate ideas. Topics that will be covered include understanding and creating presentations, PowerPoint basics, working with templates, creating handouts, and modifying graphic objects. Objects such as inserting graphics, sound and video will also be covered. A presentation will be produced in class.

Microsoft Publisher
Microsoft Publisher is a user-friendly package that integrates fully with the Microsoft Office package software. The course will cover techniques and basic publishing skills. Also covered is an overview of the included templates (signs, flyers, brochures, newsletters, invitations, etc.) and how to modify them to fit your personal needs.
   
Scanning and Editing Photos for Documents and the Web
Come and learn to scan your photos and prepare them for use on the Web or in a document.
   
Tips and Tricks for Web Sites
OK, you know the basics of doing a web page. Now it's time to learn some of the other important things about web design and maintenance such as load and browser check, optimizing graphics for quicker downloads, checking for broken links and, where you can learn some of the neat stuff like drop menus.
   
Microsoft Word 2003: Introduction
Microsoft Word is a word processing program designed to eliminate repetitive typing and allow the user to revise text quickly and easily. By the end of the course, you will know how to create and print documents, enhance text, format documents, manipulate text and use the speller and thesaurus.
   
Microsoft Word 2003: Intermediate (Prerequisite: Word Intro)
This is a continuation of the Introduction course. The course covers intermediate-level features including working with multiple windows, combining documents, headers and footers, form letters and labels, sorting information, using the table features, using the glossary, recording and running macros, and combining text and pictures.
   
Microsoft Word 2003: Advanced (Prerequisite: Word Intermediate)
This is a continuation of the Intermediate course. The course covers advanced-level features including advanced styles, creating and using templates, creating forms, using graphic effects, creating a report, document layout, and sharing documents.
   
Tables and Graphics in MS Word
Learn how to work with and manipulate tables and graphics using MS Word. You will also learn how to use them in preparing documents for use in a Web page.
   
Microsoft Access 2003: Introduction
Microsoft Access is a relational database management system. This course introduces the Access screen, menu layout, and basic terminology. Additional topics to be covered include how to establish a database; elements of table design and creation; adding, editing, and deleting records; locating individual records; forming basic queries; sorting output; and creating and running reports.
   
Microsoft Access 2003: Intermediate (Prerequisite: Access Intro)
This is a continuation of the Introduction course. The course covers intermediate-level features including field properties, multi-table design, relational concepts, advanced queries, advanced report writer features, creating mailing labels, basic functions, macros with forms, using macros to provide user interaction and automate tasks, advanced report techniques, replicating database files, and using Access with other applications.
   
Microsoft Access 2003: Advanced (Prerequisite: Access Intermediate)
This is a continuation of the Intermediate course. The course covers advanced-level features including designing parameter and action queries, outer join and cross tab query techniques, form design enhancements, subform design, using command buttons and sics of form creation and usage, indexing to speed searches, usage tips and shortcuts.
   
Microsoft Excel 2003: Introduction
Microsoft Excel is a spreadsheet program that takes advantage of pull-down menus, mouse support, and all other features of a Windows environment. Topics that will be covered include creating and organizing worksheets, manipulating and formatting worksheets, printing, accessing on-line help, creating charts, and working with databases.
   
Microsoft Excel 2003: Intermediate (Prerequisite: Excel Intro)
This is a continuation of the Introduction course. The course covers intermediate-level features including creating macros, using functions, sharing worksheet data, manipulating the screen display, protecting worksheet data, formatting and enhancing worksheets and charts, linking worksheets, and consolidating worksheet data.
   
Microsoft Excel 2003: Advanced (Prerequisite: Excel Intermediate)
This is a continuation of the Intermediate course. The course covers advanced-level features including creating charts, modifying a chart sheet, modifying an embedded chart, formatting a chart, auto formats, using graphic objects, advanced charting topics, sorting data, auto filter, advanced filter, and data form.
   
Preparing a Grade Book Using Microsoft Excel
Learn to prepare a grade book using the Excel program. No previous knowledge of Excel is necessary.

This course will be an overview of our e-mail system. Topics covered will include accessing your e-mail account, retrieving messages, sending messages, and attaching files.
