Purpose Statement

The Mathematics, Science and Engineering Division of the Annandale Campus of Northern Virginia Community College enhances and supports the mission of Northern Virginia Community College and the Virginia Community College System.

M/S/E accomplishes this enhancement and support through the delivery of high quality comprehensive associate degree and certificate programs, as well as providing discipline support for every other program on campus, in areas such as mathematics and science. Students benefit from our excellence in instruction and advisement, which assists them in achieving their academic, professional and personal goals.

Division Dean Message

Welcome to the Home Page of the Mathematics, Science and Engineering Division at the Annandale Campus of Northern Virginia Community College. The Division offers service courses in mathematics and sciences for the general education requirement. In addition, we offer Associate of Science degrees in Computer Science, Engineering, Engineering with an Electrical Engineering Specialization, Science and Science with a Mathematics Specialization.

Associate of Applied Science degrees are available in Architectural Technology, Computer and Electronics Technology and Engineering Technologies with Specializations in Drafting, Civil Engineering Technology and Mechanical Engineering Technology. Certificates are also obtainable in Architectural Drafting, Electronics, Engineering Drafting Computer Aided Drafting and Design, and Microcomputer Repair. The Mathematics, Science and Engineering Division has over 4,000 full time equivalent students per year, and offers upwards of 400 classes for the Fall and Spring semesters. With forty-eight full-time faculty members and sixty adjuncts, this is the largest division at Annandale, accounting for 24% of the FTES on the campus.
