Who Are the Language Center Staff?
Hi, my name is Brian and I help supervise the Language Center. I encourage students to learn more about what the language center has to offer by paying us a visit and meeting some of the tutors. We are here to help and have a lot of resources to aid you with improving your language abilities. Please take advantage of our resources and ask us any questions you might have.
My name is Virginia Oman. I am a native Spanish speaker who enjoys foreign languages. I have lived in many foreign lands and I am very interested in other cultures. I am currently studying at NOVA and want a career as an interpreter. I greatly enjoy teaching Spanish and sharing my knowledge about Spanish culture. As a tutor, I look forward to helping students excel in their understanding and use of the Spanish language.
Hello, everyone. My name is Hyojin Shin, a lab assistant at the language center. Since I was an international student, I often come here to ask the tutors for help and use a variety of software programs. Hello everyone! I'm Kevin Phannareth, the Japanese tutor at the Language Center. I am currently studying at NOVA as a Linguistics major, with Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Spanish, and Vietnamese in my repertoire. I've been studying Japanese since the second grade and have been teaching Japanese since my freshman year of high school. With my experience, I hope to aid those in need of Japanese tutoring, and possibly other languages someday. If you need anything please ask or make an appointment with me at the Language Center.
