Welcome to the Language Center! The summer 2012 session has now begun, and sign up for tutoring appointments is now available. Tutoring appointments begin Wednesday, May 23rd. Please refer to the Tutoring Page for more information on the languages and times offered during the summer.
Conversation Café for Spanish will start Wednesday, May 30th. We will meet on Wednesdays from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. and Thursdays from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. in CG 413. Whether you are taking Spanish this summer or just want to practice speaking, stop by and join the conversation.
We will also be hosting Movie and Popcorn Fridays during the summer. Beginning May 25th, we will meet in CG 413 from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. to watch both American and foreign films. We will meet the second and fourth Friday of May, June, July and the beginning of August. Follow us on Facebook to find out which films are being shown.
How can we help?
The Language Center offers:
- Digital sound files that accompany the laboratory manuals or textbooks used in world language classes at the Annandale Campus.
- Supplemental software programs to support the development of speaking and listening skills in the language being studied.
- DVDs for student use in the center or at home.
- Dictionaries and other supplemental texts.
- Free tutoring for students taking Chinese, Spanish, French, German, and Arabic.
- Individual or small group study space.
- Conversation Café and Global Cultural Connections.
