Research My Topic
Identify the main terms which describe what you need. (See Focusing Your Topic.) These terms will be the key words you use to search the catalog and databases.
Use these key words to find:
- Books or DVDs in the Library Catalog. (Click here to learn how.)
- Articles in the Library's subscription databases
- Two excellent general databases are ProQuest and Academic Search Complete. Both have a wide range of journals, magazine and newspapers.
- The Religion & Philosophy Collection is a database which includes lots of scholarly publications.
- JSTOR is a large collection of scholarly journals; limit by discipline and choose "Philosophy" to search relevant journals in the field.
TIP: Use Journal Finder to locate full text articles available in journals (print, electronic, microfilm) by name or subject area. (Click here to learn how.)
