Calliope 2008 - Call for Submissions
Spring submission deadline: Friday, February 29,
2008
The Calliope Journal will be published and available to students and faculty in April
2008.
The editors of Calliope seek work that is fresh, engaging, and imaginative for the
2008 edition. We invite submissions from any student enrolled in an Annandale class
during the 2007-2008 academic year in each of the following categories: poetry, fiction,
creative nonfiction, ESL creative nonfiction, and artwork/graphics. For guidelines and

Publication and Writing Contest
The highest quality entries will be published. In addition, these entries will
automatically be entered in the Languages and Literature Division’s Best in
Publication Contest. Best in Publication Contest Prizes for artwork will be awarded for
Cover, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd prizes, $100, $75, $50, and $25 respectively; these prizes have
been provided by the Humanities Division.
Best in Publication Contest Prizes for literary works will be for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd
prizes, $100, $75, and $50 respectively in each literary category; these prizes have been
provided by the Division of Language and Literature. Winners will be acknowledged and
read from their works at the Calliope Awards Celebration on May 1, 2008 in the CE
Forum – Annandale at 12:00 -2:00 P.M.
