What is the RPK Society?

The Recreation & Park Society (RPK) is a student activities club on the Annandale Campus of Northern Virginia Community College.

Who is a member of the RPK Society?

Any student enrolled in an RPK class is automatically made a part of the membership. The are no rites of passage other than student dedication to the enjoyment of recreation and outdoor pursuit and to the responsible use of the environment for the benefit of future generations.

When are the meetings?

The next meeting is scheduled for January 22, 2009 from 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in CM 332

What are the responsibilities of membership?

  • Create and support group goals for the organization.
  • Attend meetings regularly.
  • Enhance the quality of the experience by bringing new and novel ideas to the group.
  • Work club events throughout the year.
  • Attend Club Roundtable Meetings throughout the academic year
  • Willingness to promote the organization by wearing the RPK T-shirt.
  • To serve in a leadership role (President, Vice-president, Secretary & Treasurer).
  • Interest in attending conferences for academic & professional development.

What does the RPK Society do?

The club hosts professional training and seminars for the benefit of the membership and the student population at large. One of the goals of the RPK Society is to create relationships with professionals in the field and offer professional training opportunities at the college.
