The Business and Public Services Division at the Annandale Campus seeks to deliver high quality, comprehensive associate degree programs, certificates and courses in a broad array of business and public services disciplines. Division Dean Message

The goal of the Business and Public Services Division is to meet the education and skill development needs of our communities. Our dedicated faculty and staff are committed to help you achieve your personal and professional goals. Whether you are looking to earn an associate's degree, transfer credits, pursue career training or gain personal enrichment, we can help you transform today's dreams into tomorrow's achievements.

The Business and Public Services Division has more than 4,000 full-time equivalent students per year, and offers upwards of 1,300 classes for the Summer, Fall and Spring semesters. We have 41 full time faculty and staff members and 140 adjuncts.

Purpose Statement

The division offers courses in general education, humanities and occupation/technical areas to satisfy certificate and degree requirements at NOVA and for transfer to other institutions of higher education. Courses in Developmental English and ESL are offered by the division to prepare students for study at the college level and for support in the workplace.

Division Dean Message

Welcome to the Liberal Arts Division Web page at the Annandale Campus of Northern Virginia Community College. The Liberal Arts Division enhances and supports the mission of NOVA and the VCCS by providing high-quality comprehensive associate degree and certificate programs, as well as providing discipline support for every other program on campus in areas such as social science, music, art, speech communication, physical education and recreation and parks. Our students benefit from our excellence in instruction and advisement, which assists them in achieving their academic, professional and personal goals.

We have 47 full-time faculty members, approximately 100 adjuncts and five staff members. The Liberal Arts Division is probably one of the most diversified at Annandale. Our faculty use a multitude of instructional methods which include PowerPoint presentations, field trips, online instruction and courses offered through the Extended Learning Institute (ELI).

Division Dean Message

Welcome to the Mathematics, Science and Engineering Division home page for NOVA's Annandale Campus. 

The MSE mission is to enhance student success by providing educational exellence in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and related disciplines. We offer the following in support of our mission:

  • A.S. degrees in Engineering, Engineering with an Electrical Engineering Specialization, Science and Science with a Mathematics Specialization.
  • A.A.S. degrees in Architectural Technology, Engineering Technology, and Engineering Technology with Specialization in Mechanical Engineering, and /or drafting.
  • Certificates are also obtainable in architectural Drafting and Computer-Aided Drafting and Design.

The MSE Division consists of four departments. The Biology and Natural Science department teaches courses in Biology, Environmental Science and Natural Science. The Physical Sciences department teaches courses in Chemistry, Geology and Physics. The Mathematics department teaches courses in Mathematics and Development Mathematics. The Engineering department teaches courses in Architecture, Computer-aided Design, Engineering and Engineering Technology.

The MSE Division has more than 7500 Full-Time Equivalent Students (FTES) per year and offers upwards of 600 classes for the fall and spring semesters. Our division is the largest at the Annandale campus with 85 full-time faculty members and 150 adjunct faculty members. We account for close to 30% of the FTES on the campus.
