ACT Testing Center

Northern Virginia Community College (NOVA) is doing its part in helping with homeland security.

Candidates seeking positions as airport screeners under the Transportation Security Agency (TSA) have been coming through NVCC's doors.

Information
Started in July 2003 with licensure exams in the fields of social work, dietician and nuclear medicine, the ACT Testing Center also has exams for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE).

The Center is open 3 days a week for testing. Exams range from the four-and a-half-hour ASWB exam for social workers, to the three-and-a-half-hour TSA exam to the ASE exams that can be as short as one-and-a-half-hours. In addition to ACT testing, the Center is also used for MOS testing and WorkKeys assessments/remedial training.

The ACT Testing Center has eight workstations as well as one that is ADA compliant. The facility is "state-of-the-art" with a camera for checking in testing candidates and microphones and video recording for quality assurance purposes.

To date, over 400 candidates have taken exams of various types in the Center.
