English as a Second Language
ESL Testing and Registration April 6 – May 22, 2009. Students must take a writing and speaking test to register for CE ESL classes. Call (703) 323-3168 to make an appointment. Register for classes after you take the test.

Application Process

All new students must complete an application. Documentation of your status: F-1, J-1, Permanent Resident, etc. will be required.

Registration Policy

All ESL students need to come and register in-person. You should have an assigned ID number to register. It is called "EMPLID."

		Returning Students: You will get a card with your EMPLID number in December 2005 from the office or you can go online to find it out at http://www.nvcc.edu/novaconnect.
		New Students: After you fill out a college application, you will be assigned the EMPLID number.

Refunds

To receive a refund for ESL classes you must cancel the class by 5:00 pm on the following dates:

• June 1, 2009 - Final refund date for all intensive courses (1980-1986, 1970-1975, 1995 and 1996)
• June 8, 2009 - Final refund date for all other ESL classes.
