When do our classes meet?
Classes are offered Monday through Saturday with morning,
day and evening hours. Intensive classes meet from 9:30 to
11:30 a.m. and 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday in spring, fall,
and summer. Most part-time classes meet twice a week
for 2 hours. See our course schedules for more details. |

How can I register for classes?
Application for Admission: If you
have never taken a credit or non-credit class at Northern Virginia Community
College or any other Virginia community college, you must complete the Application
for Admission in this flier and submit it to the Continuing Education
Office in CE 202 before registering for any CE class. Please confirm
processing of your application before attempting to register on the
Web. If you prefer, you may also fill out the application on line at http://www.nvcc.edu.
Registration: If you are a returning student, you may
register on the web or in person. If you are a new student, you will
need to take a CE ESL placement test first. You may not register
before you receive the results of the test. To avoid being inconvenienced,
register and pay for your course as soon as possible prior to the start
of the class you wish to take. Registering early may also prevent the
disappointment of a cancelled or closed class.
- Web Registration: You may now
register for most Continuing Education classes on the web. You must
first get your NovaConnect ID (also called Empl ID and Student ID)
by going to http://www.nvcc.edu,
clicking on the NovaConnect button, and following
the directions under "Students". Instructions on how to
use the web registration process are also located on this page. You
must pay for your classes by credit card before leaving the web site.
If you attend a class without paying you will be held financially
responsible for the tuition.
- In-Person Registration: If you
need to register in person, the Continuing Education Office is open
Monday through Thursday from 8:30 a.m. - 7:45 p.m., Friday from 8:30
a.m. - 5:00 p.m. and Saturday from 8:30 – 11:30 a.m. Bring your
completed registration
form to Room 202, Richard J. Ernst Community Cultural Center (CE),
Annandale Campus.

What is CE ESL placement test?
The test we administer consists of two parts: an oral interview
(5-10 minutes) and a writing sample (30 minutes). You probably
will have to be here for an hour and a half on the day of the test. |

Can I get a refund?
To receive a refund, you must cancel the class 4 business
days before the first day of class. |

Do I need to bring textbooks to the first class?
Please wait to talk to you instructor before you buy
books. Then you can buy books in the
campus bookstore located on the lower level of CG
building (703) 323-3185. |

Do I need a parking permit?
There is no free parking on campus. You must buy a parking
sticker in CG 226. As a student you should park in B lot if you
have a parking sticker attached to your car. Visitors may park in the
paid visitor lot or at metered spaces. |
