Human Resource Management CEU Certificate Program  

Northern Virginia Community College, in cooperation with the Northern Virginia Chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management, offers you the opportunity to obtain a certificate in Human Resource Management. This nine-course, 108-hour, CEU certificate program provides a general overview of the dynamic and growing field of human resource management. Core courses address human resource fundamentals, and provide hands-on, practical techniques that can immediately be applied to the work setting. Elective courses give students the opportunity to focus on a specialized area, enhance particular skills, and explore hot topics or emerging trends in the human resource management field.

Individual courses may be taken without pursuing the certificate.

Length of Certificate Program: To obtain the Human Resource Management CEU Certificate, students must complete the seven required courses plus two or more elective courses (totaling a minimum of 2.4 CEU's). Each course in the program meets for 12 hours, 1.2 CEU's, unless otherwise specified in the list below. Completion normally takes approximately one to two years. Not all courses are offered every semester. In order to earn a certificate, you must attend at least 90% of the scheduled class hours for each course.

Who Should Attend: This program is suited for people interested in developing a new career, the human resource professional, as well as any manager, supervisor, or business owner responsible for managing their most valuable resource, their employees. PHR's and SPHR's will have an opportunity to get hands-on practice while earning CEUs.
