The Student Activities Clubs & Organizations (SACO) office at NOVA's Annandale Campus provides an empowering and rewarding student leadership experience where students can develop the conceptual framework and skill sets necessary for academic, personal and professional success.
This page is designed to improve the ability of the campus student leadership community to effectively engage in the creation and execution of campus based event programming and student club/organization management. Below are a collection of forms and documents that every club, interest group, or organization will require during its existence at NOVA.
Student Clubs Handbook 2011-2012
The At the Helm Student Club/ Organization handbook is designed to provide the would be student leader/member a guidepost, or a lighthouse of information about the campus as it relates to student clubs, organizations and programming.
In this guidebook we cover everything from starting your club and organizations, to managing the financial transaction for your club and events.
At the Helm also contains a section for tips and tactics for successful programming. Topics such as preparing an effective meeting, and leading a successful strategic planning session are discussed. We have also included a copy of a template for time management program that focuses on planning in two week blocks.

Application for Approval as an Interest Group

This form is required for all groups that are interested in starting an organization at NOVA Annandale. See At The Helm for more information.
Procedures for Recognition as a New Club or College Organization
Form 125-291 (RTF or PDF)
For groups with one or more academic semester(s) of official interest group activity, the Recognition form must be completed by all official interest groups interested in becoming officially recognized clubs.
Application for Use of Facilities Form

For all groups requesting to use any space on campus you must fill out the Use of Facilities form and return a signed copy to SACO Office in Room CF 230.

For clubs/organizations interested in developing a structured time management program for events and scheduling group meetings.

This is an effective checklist on typical needs and logistic concerns for club events and programs. Use this in your executive meetings to organize tasks and responsibilities related to your programs.
SACO Funding Request (PDF)
For any group interested in securing funding for an event, you must fill out this form and submit a copy to the SACO coordinator at chaney@nvcc.edu or bring a copy to Room CF 230.
Utilize effective time management techniques, and effective communication and you will go far in all your endeavors both on and off campus.
