Honors Core

If you are taking more than one Honors course, you should explore the Honors Core, a program that totals 18 hours of honors credits, including an interdisciplinary honors seminar in the second year. The Honors Core is designed to complement the requirements for any degree program offered by the college. Completion of the Honors Core will be indicated on your official transcript. If you receive a degree from NOVA and have completed the Honors Core, an Honors seal will appear on your diploma.

Honors Core requirements are as follows:

  bullet Honors ENG 111-1 6 credits
  bullet Honors Humanities, Social Science, or Math/Science 6 credits
  bullet Honors Elective 3 credits
  bullet 200-Level Honors Seminar 3 credits
