Mission
Statement
To help the Northern Virginia
Community College attain its objectives and provide for continued
quality education for future generations, to serve the College
in meaningful ways and to be a part of the evolution of the life
of the institution in the Northern Virginia community.
A
Call for Alumni
The
Alumni Federation is always looking to expand its numbers. If
you are a graduate of NVCC or if you have taken a minimum of 30
hours, in good standing, at the College you are eligible to join
the Alumni Federation. The Alumni Federation Board
of Governors plans fund raisers, awards scholarships and plans
social events for alums. If you are interested in joining this
dynamic and growing group please contact the Alumni Federation
Office at (703) 323-3749 or email us at alumni@nvcc.edu.
A
Call for Sponsorship
The
creative journal of the NVCC faculty, staff, and alumni, The Northern
Virginia Review is growing in exciting ways. They are selling
copies in our bookstores for $5.00, scheduling readings at local
bookstores, and planning to expand for next year’s 20th issue.
The expansion will extend the influence of TNVR into our community
by opening submissions to all writers/artists in our service area.
We will keep space for College contributors while becoming better
serving our community. The journal will expand to handle the increase
in submissions.
Now
we need your help. We need sponsors to raise the money to expand
and become a quality journal worthy of our College. You can contribute
at any of the following levels: Friend of TNVR for $25; Donor for
$50; Sponsor for $100; Patron for $500 or more
All
contributors will be recognized in Issue 19 (March 2005). Make your
check payable to NVCC Educational Foundation and indicate that it
goes to The Northern Virginia Review. Send to Steve Drasner, Chair
of TNVR Board, by January 10, 2005. Company sponsorships are welcomed
as well as personal ones, so let us know of any businesses you think
we should approach for support. For questions, call Steve Drasner
(x3334), Dorothy Seyler, Editor (x3464), or John Ruffino (Educational
Foundation).
