Please note:  The Writing Center online consultant is happy to help with your papers.  Please remember to allow 24-48 hours to receive a response and to answer ALL the questions below or we will NOT respond. If you submit your paper after 3 pm on Friday, you will receive a response on the following Monday.

News and Updates

The Summer Session went far too quickly.  Fall Semester is right around the corner.  We will see you again starting on Monday, August 29, 2005. 

The last day for ON-LINE writing consultations for the summer term was Wednesday, July 27, 2005.      

When you send us questions and drafts of writing project, the more you tell us about your work, the more we can tailor our response to your specific situation. We love details!

If you do not answer all the questions, we may need to write back to you and ask for more information before we can give you useful comments--and then it will take longer to receive comments on your paper. 

Also, please remember to use your NVCC email account ONLY (Click here for information about how to get a free NVCC email account).  Our "spam screen" often screens out messages from accounts other than those we provide--so if you send from an outside account, we might never get the message. We want to protect our system from virus infection.  Using your internal account will help us keep our system free from those deadly computer viruses!

We will give suggestions and make comments, but we cannot edit your paper or correct your errors.

Remember, The Writing Assistance Center can help you best if you come early in the writing process. Please do not wait until the day before your essay is due!

• What were you asked to write?
• Are there special requirements for this assignment that we should know about?
• What is your thesis sentence?
• What EXACTLY do you want advice on?
• What parts of the paper are you happy with?
