Lucy is a life-long learner. With a B.A. from Baylor University in Education, and an M.A. from The University of North Texas, Lucy has continued to pursue her eclectic intellectual interests through advanced graduate hours. She currently has additional graduate hours in theatre from the University of Washington in Seattle as well as hours in philosophy from The University of Dallas. She has attended countless workshops in various fields and has studied with master teachers such as Michael Gelb, Cicely Berry and Louis Colainni. Lucy’s teaching has been recognized at the State and National level. She has won numerous awards, including recognition from The National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts. She was also given the prestigious title of “Distinguished Teacher” by the White House Commission on Presidential Scholars.A competent actress, Lucy’s latest performance endeavors include her one woman show, “Journey,” last performed for the Texas Speech Communication Association. In addition, she is delighted to have na “Tubby, The Tuba” for the Alexandria NOVA Symphony Band. Lucy has spent time in the business world as well, training bankers in the field of communication for The American Institute of Banking. She has done numerous seminars in various aspects of communication for such organizations as The Daughters of the American Revolution and The National Alzheimer’s Society. In addition to her teaching at NOVA, Lucy also adjuncts at George Mason University, where she specializes in Public Speaking and Presenting with Technology. When not involved in work, Lucy enjoys excursions to NYC with her spouse and soul mate of twenty-six years, Kenneth Globke, who is a systems analyst for Spriggs Hollingsworth in DC. She also loves writing, music and puttering with computers.
