Welcome to the NVCC Photography Program at the Alexandria Campus

The NVCC Photography faculty encourages creativity and individual exploration founded on solid technical skills. Our Program balances vision and craft within a broad definition of photography.

The variety of classes offered in the program is supported by professionally equipped digital labs, wet processing labs for b/w film processing and printing, and color digital printing. Follow the links on the left to explore the scope of our program.

"Documenting the NEW Northern Virginia"
The NVCC Photography Programs at Alexandria and Woodbridge are collaborating in an extended Documentary Photography project, The New Northern Virginia.

A series of PHT 195 Documentary Project classes will investigate the new and changing Northern Virginia, its shifting landscape and population.  Nationally recognized documentary photographers will speak to the classes, and public, each semester. The project culminates in a website and special student exhibition.
