The Alexandria Campus Physical Education Department offers a wide variety of fitness, lifetime activity and dance courses during the day, evening and on Saturday during both the 16 week and 8 week Fall and Spring semesters, and the 6 or 12 week summer sessions. In keeping with the wellness goals of the college, two credits of PED are required for the two year degree programs. To fulfill this requirement, you may take a 2-credit PED 116 Lifetime Fitness and Wellness class, or take a 1-credit PED 116 plus a 1-credit elective in PED. PED 105 - Aerobic Dance
PED 107 - Exercise and Nutrition
PED 111 - Weight Training
PED 116 - Lifetime Fitness and Wellness (required) 1 or 2 credits
The above classes are part of the Fitness Career Studies Certificate. The certificate additionally contains an internship, PED 220 - Adult Health and Development (2 - credits), Speech (3 - credits) and a current CPR card.
